For over a decade now, Maoin Cheoil an Chláir has been bringing the gift of music to the people of Clare in a unique and inclusive way.

When it was opened by President Mary Robinson in 1994 it was the first music school in Ireland to teach both classical and traditional music side by side. This it continues to do today.

Because we believe it’s never too early, or late, to start learning music we welcome students of all ages and stages of experience; toddlers, teenagers, and adults.

Many of our students choose to study music at Maoin Cheoil simply because of the pleasure and sense of achievement that learning a new instrument or finding their own voice can bring. Some want to study music as an extra subject for the Junior or Leaving Certificate exams while others wish to pursue careers as professional musicians.

At Maoin Cheoil an Chláir we believe that the gift of music is for everyone and so our courses are priced to ensure that cost is not a barrier to learning.
